Dee has an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Dallas and a BS Mechanical Engineering, 1981 from the University of Texas. He joined Moyes & Co., Inc. as Managing Director in 2000, coming from Arco International where he was Senior Financial Advisor, Upstream providing evaluation and economic analysis to guide strategic business decisions investments in US and international. He was financial advisor for investment in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Dee has been actively involved in the analysis of commercial opportunities for undeveloped gas resources. Since joining Moyes in 2000, Dee has completed studies in assessing future opportunities in the World LNG Market, LNG Shipping Studies, comparing financial structures of the world's LNG projects, economic assessment of specific LNG projects, written papers to be presented at the 2002 APPEA conference in Adelaide and 2002 World Petroleum Congress on the Potential impacts of Gas to Liquids. He has given presentations on Options to Commercialize Stranded Gas Resources.
Dee has been actively involved in working with clients to develop or re-tool their business plans. The work has involved constructing full cycle portfolio models that flow to Discounted Cash Flow Models, Income Statements and Balance Sheets that form the basis of the business plan. Moyes & Co. has acted as an Advisor to these clients to secure financing for their plans.
His last primary project with ARCO was the financial and economic evaluation of business development opportunities and financial structure for the Tangguh field in Indonesia, a $3 billion LNG investment where he managed the development of complex economic evaluation suites and worked with Corporate Treasury to develop and analyze scenarios to identify advantageous financing options, optimum project structure and impact of changes in the oil and gas law.
Parallel to the LNG responsibilities he assessed Joint Venture opportunities with the goal of enhancing Arco's Asian gas position. Developed, evaluated, and presented investment concepts to senior management and worked with Corporate Treasury to develop and analyze scenarios to identify most advantageous financing options. He has experience in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
From 1996 through 1998, Dee was Director of Engineering and Evaluation, Gas Conversion Technology. Recruited by ARCO International CFO to provide evaluation expertise and lead team analyzing an emerging R&D technology that offers significant environmental and cost benefits. Conducted market, resource, and product pricing studies; performed in-depth economic analysis to establish feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed new technology. Evaluated and recommended a Joint Venture arrangement to provide low cost access to the technology and an arrangement to jointly work on further technology enhancements.
From 1990 to 1996, he was Finance Planning & Control at ARCO and then Vastar including the spin-off and subsequent $3 billion IPO to create one of the country's largest oil & gas exploration and production companies. He prepared portions of S1 document supported the road show presentations and was involved in all aspects of the company's exploration business planning and evaluation activities technical and economic analysis, decision analysis, competitive bidding evaluation, and long-range planning. Developed presentations to top management including CFO and CEO, delivering recommendations on critical capital decisions, risk sharing, joint venture partners, bidding strategy, and exploration performance. He was a member of the exploration management team and an inhouse expert in competitive bidding evaluation. Managed the evaluation of over 200 outside-generated exploration joint venture projects.
Dee is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, a Member Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. Dee holds patents in the area of LNG re-gas technology, published papers on the subject of Gas-to-Liquids and given presentations on commercialization options for stranded gas.
